"I went in looking for a broken leaf spring or broken coil spring. I explained I wanted it to cut up and use the steel, so make and model didn't matter. The young bloke behind the counter didn't seem to have much English understanding and he asked which car it was for. I explained again... He eventually spoke to someone else on the radio (in a different language) and came back saying he could get me one for $50. I said $50 for a broken spring seemed high. He said they'd go get me a good one off a car because it was better.. I re-explained... He said they have no broken leaf or coil springs anywhere. I was mildly amused but fair enough... Thankfully a nice bloke standing next to me offered me one he had at home, so I got that one instead. My overall experience with the wreckers was one of frustration and disappointment. Perhaps they're good when you're looking for parts to fix your car, I don't know, but the language barrier was a problem in this case and I usually don't have any issues because I work with new Australians almost every day. Perhaps it was a ruse to 'up-sell' me. Again, I don't know but it was a disappointing experience."
